Jim Poer - Coordinator of Facilities at Haus Edelweiss Contact Jim I am responsible for the care and upkeep of the 11 buildings inside and outside, 9 vehicles, the pool, pond, and about 3 acres of grass, plants, and flowers. In the winter, I organize and direct the US work crew for 2 weeks on needed work projects. Family: Deb and I had a wonderful daughter named Krista. Krista died 4/13/97 of Cystic Fibrosis. We miss her each day, but look forward to our reunion in heaven. We also have 7 foreign exchange student "sons and daughter" who lived with us for one year each and whom we love as "our own." My mother and father, Roy and Florence Poer, live in Indiana and my brother, Jerry, lives in California.
Hometown: I lived in Indianapolis most of my life and attended Indian Creek Christian Church. Educational background: I attended Ball State University, Muncie, IN for 2 years, but most of my education came through life's experiences. I worked for a lumber company for 15 yrs., was a manager for a manufacturing division for a builder for 3 yrs., a custom home builder superintendent for 3 yrs., and in business for myself as JP Quality Construction for 12 yrs. before moving to Europe to serve my Lord at Haus Edelweiss. Hobbies: My main hobby is riding my Honda Goldwing motorcycle. I have enjoyed riding for several years and seeing our beautiful country. I also like to play competitive table tennis. Woodworking also gives me peace and a chance to build with my hands. Best part about my job: - The opportunity to meet fellow brothers and sisters from many different countries and to build friendships with them. - Also the chance to meet and work with many American brothers and sisters.
