His amazing grace, like cozy sunbeams and restful rainfall, is easy to miss.
In our poverty and weakness, we often just rely upon it without thinking and thanking. Partly because it's so normal. Tiny arms around the neck, a saint's peaceful homegoing, forgiveness from a friend, a wreck avoided by a still, soft voice.
Like gravity, grace gives us balance, creates stability, and basically keeps us down to earth. But we forget. Like the air we breathe. Essential for survival, but taken for granted. We're dead without it, but forget we need it..
STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY
His grace is like the binding force holding everything together. Unseen, yet radically essential. His grace resurrects good from evil. It plants, feeds, heals, waters, prunes, and quickens our lives. But His unpretentious grace works so humbly, we usually just walk right by it without a word of thanks.
Forgetting that it provides everything we really need to get us through.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV).
Father, this day we pause for a moment to say THANK YOU for your beams of love that gently soak our lives with your grace. We love you! In Jesus we give thanks. Amen.
