There was silence in heaven. Even after all the suffering. There was silence.
GUIDANCE
But that does not mean nothing happens when we pray. Especially when we pray together in silence. Waiting. Not the waiting of the helpless, but the waiting of the expectant. Waiting for the prayers to do their deep work.
PERSPECTIVE
And the time does come when our prayers are ignited by the Spirit to accomplish transformation. On fire with His power.
His time will come. And we will all be amazed by what was wrought in the silence!
STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY
There was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Following the silence the seven angels who stand before the throne of God were given seven trumpets.
"Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake" (Revelation 8:3-5 NIV).
