GPS Journal - May 11, 2011

“The fingerprints of TCM are forever on the souls of my colleagues.  In order to leave a legacy, as disciples we must commit ourselves to living a legacy.”  Dr. Robert Lowery (1948-2011)

GUIDANCE

Such is the case with our friend, teacher, brother, mentor, and co-laborer, Dr. Bob Lowery. Bob would want us to stay focused on the mission. Yet we find ourselves struggling to say goodbye to someone we held so near to our hearts.

PERSPECTIVE

I imagine that as time passes, Bob Lowery references will emerge in our conversations, our writings, and our teaching. They will season our communication as his legacy lives on within those of us privileged to know him. At the visitation, memorial service, and in conversations with those saying goodbye, many observed that Bob had prayerfully managed every precious moment for maximum Kingdom value all the way to the end of his life.

STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY

I still grieve our loss of this good man.  We will continue to miss him.  His wife Marilyn told us that, with his strength totally gone, he somehow managed one final deed before passing.  He squeezed Marilyn’s hand tightly and tried to lift it to his lips for a parting kiss.  That done, he went home.

Well done, Bob.  See you soon.

Tony
