GPS Journal - October 26, 2011

We just don't get it.
It's not to restrict us,
     Make us robots,
        Ruin our day.

GUIDANCE

It's true freedom--
The freedom of children playing safely in the streets,
     Harmony in our homes,
        Crime and corruption crushed,
           Disasters averted,
              Politicians faithfully serving;
All God's creatures sound, safe, and secure.

PERSPECTIVE

It's not stoically accepting fate
     Or letting others run us.
It's the joy that comes from healthy boundaries
And living in harmony with His beautiful design,
Doing good because it resonates with our deepest family values.

Jesus put it this way in John 14:15:
"If you love me, keep my commandments."
And He commissioned us in Matthew 28:20:
     "...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
      you."

STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY 

Doing God's will is not imprisoning our desires.
Quite the opposite!
It's setting them in the perfect place and time for joyful expression!
