GPS Journal - October 13, 2011

You can call them "white," "big," "little,"
"Whopping," "innocent," "funny," or even "unintentional." 
You can say you are just kidding. 
Or it's not "that bad."

GUIDANCE

But they are still part of the wrong family system. 
Jesus told us that Satan is a liar,
The "father of lies" (John 8:44). 
He is father of a family seeking to devour and destroy everything Christian. 
Lies are a primary tool of his family system. 
His deceitful scheming (Ephesians 4:14) includes keeping us focused on
False, base, evil, impure, ugly, dishonorable, and deplorable things.

On the other hand, our family follows Jesus' instruction
To be wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove (Matthew 10:16),
Knowing everything Satan is doing "in the dirt"
While rising above the evil around us;
"Speaking the truth in love" as we"grow up into him who is the Head" (Ephesians 4:15);
Choosing to dwell on things that are true, noble, right, pure,
Lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

PERSPECTIVE

So the conclusion is obvious.  When we go along with our culture and say nothing,
When we are content to slouch toward Gomorrah,
When we immerse ourselves into the dysfunctional family system
Promoted by most movies,TV sitcoms, entertainment industries,
And most contemporary music lyrics,
When we say nothing against the lies spewing from an increasingly godless culture,
The question must be asked:

STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY

Who's your daddy?
