David Wright - North American Vice President

Contact David at David@tcmi.org

After developing (by God’s grace!) a successful real estate practice in Indianapolis, I thought,”This is it, I’ll do this for the rest of my life.” The Lord had other ideas. When my pastor asked me if I might be interested in looking at a job that was going to be available at TCM, I said, “I really like what I’m doing, but tell me about TCM.” The more he talked, the more God put it on my heart…”This is the job, for which HE has been training me.” After a lot of prayer ( by me, my wife, my friends, and the folks at TCM), I can honestly say, “This is it!”

I lead the TCM International North American staff and operation. The office in Indianapolis has functions as the general administration and development arm of TCM International.

Family:

My wife, Stephanie and I married in 1983 (25th anniversary is coming up!). We have two wonderful children (Jordan , our son, and Jaimeson, our daughter).

Hometown:

Born in Sullivan, Indiana, the Wright family moved to Beech Grove, IN (Southeast side of Indianapolis) when I was 8 years old. Stephanie and I lived I Indy when we were first married, but moved to and now live in New Palestine, IN.

Educational Background:

B.A., Indiana University

Hobbies:

Reading, writing (journaling, lyrics, screenplays, jokes – really), basketball (more watching these days), travel, and listening to a wide variety of music and whatever the kids are into….I am there.

Best part about my job:

Hearing how TCM has been instrumental in the lives of our students, graduates, volunteers, and donors in conveying the transforming power of Jesus Christ. And, knowing that our Lord has called me into such a ministry!

Interesting things to know about David:

  • My wife and I both have a performing background (theater, films, commercials, television). She was the pro!
  • While with Kiwanis International as Director of Corporate Relations, I had the opportunity to be Roger Moore’s (James Bond) personal/media manager for a week in Budapest. (We Bonded---he is a very unassuming and nice man).
  • I used to be a licensed high school basketball referee. It is much easier to “call” a game from the 25th row!
