TCM - Training Christians for Ministry

Benevolence

Benevolence is an important aspect of TCM’s ministry.  Providing food, clothing, and medicine for Christians in Eastern Europe was essential during the communist era.  It is still a much-needed service.  Many of the countries TCM serves are economically unstable with high prices and shortages of goods.

I. Used-clothing Ministry

TCM and Flat Rock Christian Church in Indiana work together to send good used clothing to Eastern European countries.  Clothing is received at the Flat Rock church building, carefully sorted and boxed, then sent to various countries in ocean-going shipping containers.

II.  Medicine

Fortunately, medicines are more readily available in most Eastern European or Central Asian countries since the fall of communism.  Unfortunately, the medicines often cost much more than people can afford.  Part of TCM’s benevolence ministry to these countries is to help Christian individuals procure life-saving or life-sustaining medication.

III.  Food

Church Assistance is needed and provided in various forms.  Both during and after the communist era TCM has provided funds for church building repairs, replacement of furnaces, expansion of church buildings for classrooms, etc.  TCM has also provided cars for preachers who travel many miles to serve multiple churches.  The most important facet of church assistance is equipping Christians from Europe and Central Asia to become disciple makers and church leaders. This equipping is accomplished through TCM's base of operations at Haus Edelweiss near Vienna, Austria.
