| Dear Friend, |
|
How often we wish we could really love (and be loved). Fully and freely. Without power games, family of origin "stuff," or using others to get
some place.
Don't our hearts ache for the type of family tree of Life we saw in the Garden? What heavenly joy to be completely transparent---"naked and not ashamed" (Genesis 2:25 NIV).

| GUIDANCE |
| With death's dark hour drawing near, our Lord showed us "the full extent of his love" (John 13:1 NIV).
Heart and soul completely open to us. No games. Not trying to figure out who He was. Not manipulating us in any way.
Complete, open, freely-given love. Vulnerable to the death.
|
| PERSPECTIVE |
"Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist" (John 13:3,4 NIV).
I love Him for this.
He washes our feet and sets them on the right path in one beautiful, selfless act. |
| STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY |
So, we CAN love more freely.
He could show the full extent of love because three things were settled.
1. He served in the Father's power. So He did not wash our feet to get anything from us. He did not need a "power base." He already had all He needed from His Father.
2. He knew where He was coming from. His family of origin was the heart of the Father. So He did not wash our feet to find Himself or manipulate us into being His family.
3. He knew where He was headed. His homeland is heaven. So, He did not wash our feet to figure out where to go.
We CAN love more freely. By humbly resolving to let Him wash away our filth.
Then allowing the Father alone to be our HERITAGE, ORIGIN, AND DESTINY.
